Abstract

The hνpeak/100 keV ∼ (Eiso/1052 ergs)1/2 correlation reported recently by Amati et al. and Lamb et al. for long gamma-ray bursts can be interpreted as a viewing angle effect if the emitting region of the fireball is ring-shaped.
