Abstract

A multigrid method for computing steady solutions to the compressible Navier-Stokes equations is described. The convection part of the equations is approximated by a simple low order upwind-biased scheme employed for multigrid relaxation in combination with a higher order Essentially Non-Oscillatory (ENO) scheme used to supply a defect correction to the right-hand-side (RHS) of the discrete equations on the locally finest multigrid levels in a way ensuring the overall high accuracy of the solution. Viscous terms of the Navier-Stokes equations are approximated in a straightforward way.
