N2 - This study was designed to elucidate whether previously observed enhanced mRNAs were due to accelerated transcription, enhanced mRNA stability or both mechanisms. We employed the nuclear run-on technique on myocardial nuclei and found the transcriptional induction of several genes, especially nuclear protooncogenes, Ca2+ regulating and heat shock protein genes.
