All-solid-state, continuous-wave, single-frequency source with ultra-wide tuning range from 550 to 2830 nm

Abstract

A novel continuous wave (cw) single frequency source was analyzed with respect to spectral coverage, spectral features and high power. The solid state source emitting single frequency radiation from the green to the mid-infrared (IR) spectral range was achieved with a single resonant optical parametric oscillator (OPO). The resonator was designed to tolerate strong thermal lenses with a focal length 4 mm. The source exhibited up to 38 GHz continuous frequency tuning and more than 50 kHz signal wavelength.
