Abstract
The evidence to date indicates that the risk of a health-care worker acquiring HIV infection from an occupational exposure is very low. Nevertheless, it is prudent for all diagnostic radiology departments to review their infection-control practices and to adopt the universal 'body substance precautions' as described.
