Abstract

Aggregatibacter actinomycemcomitans, previously named Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans (Aa), is a facultative Gram-negative slow-growing coccobacillus associated with severe oral and nonoral infections. It is a member of the HACEK group. Pulmonary infection caused by Aa is rare.
