Abstract
הספר עוסק בפרשת עמידתה של הספרות העברית לנוכח פריצתם של ציירים ופסלים יהודים אל מרכז הזירה של האמנות האירופית. המחבר מתאר שני תהליכים עוקבים: הראשון הוא תהליך הכשרת הלבבות לאמץ את האמנות הפלסטית אל התרבות העברית החדשה. התהליך השני מתרחש כיום ביצירות שירה וסיפורת רבות, המתבוננות באמנות החזותית ומייצגות אותה במגוון של דרכים, רמות והיבטים.
