Abstract

Adhesion formation to the uterine horn of the rat in response to a standard lesion after repair with either nylon sutures or absorbable surgical clips were compared. Adhesions to the clipped uterine horns were significantly more extensive and severe. The use of these devices in the peritoneal cavity in general and in particular in the vicinity of the reproductive organs is discouraged.
