Abstract

Four patients who developed jaundice and acute cholecystitis following operations on the hip are reported. These complications occurred over a period of 6 years. In 3 cases no gallstones were found. Two subjects underwent cholecystectomy; one of them died on the fourteenth day after operation. The other 2 were treated conservatively without further complications.
