Abstract

We propose the integration of plasmonics concepts into the field of nanophononics using metallic nanoresonators as coherent phonon generators and detectors. Picosecondultrasonics tools give direct access to the study of phonon propagation both in the time and frequency domains, and to the spatial distribution of strain in nanostructures.
