N2 - In this paper, a novel iterative equalizer applying soft feedback is introduced, the 2 symbols ISDIC (2S ISDIC) equalizer. The 2S ISDIC is the first equalizer that bridges the gap between the low complexity ISDIC equalizer which has poor performance, to the high complexity inverse channel equalizing methods, such as the LMMSE and the MMSE ISDIC equalizers, which have better performances. The 2S ISDIC will be incorporated into the turbo equalization scheme, resulting in an enhanced turbo equalizer, that performs better than the conventional, state of the art, linear turbo equalizer, with lower complexity and lower amount of iterations.
