Abstract

Abstract A probe has been devised, which permits direct measurement of the depth of furcal defects. The measurements are accurate to the nearest millimetre. The probe is easy and convenient to use and gives consistent measurements. It can be used to measure the depth of furcal defects in dry skulls, or in living subjects, and should prove useful in biometric, anthropometric and clinical studies.
