Abstract

A peculiar "epulis" in which the histologic examination revealed actinomycosis is described. There was no roentgenologic or clinical evidence of alveolar bone involvement. The "epulis" recurred after excision, but systemic antibiotic treatment was curative. The histologic examination and the clinical course were highly suggestive of gingival actinomycosis.
