Abstract

In this paper, a new control strategy for power management of fuel-cell-battery hybrid vehicles is presented, which is a combination of an adaptive controller and a fuzzy logic controller. The proposed adaptive controller adjusts the power flow between the fuel cell and the Li-ion battery in real time and satisfies the system constraints. The fuzzy logic controller is designed to improve the performance of the adaptive controller under different driving conditions. Simulations are performed based on a real driving cycle data to validate the effectiveness of this new strategy.
