Abstract
Sonographic evaluation of the pelvis of postmenopausal women is not complete until both ovaries are scanned. Transvaginal sonographic examination combined with transabdominal screening is diagnostic in 85% of cases. Transvaginal examination performed with a partially full bladder significantly increased ovarian detection to 93.5% (p < 0.05). © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
