N2 - Helianthemum vesicarium grows mainly on N facing, and H. ventosum on S facing slopes. On N facing slopes, soil moisture is higher and the temperature and soil salinity are lower. Scarified seeds of H. ventosum germinate faster and at higher temperature and salinity than those of H. vesicarium. These appear to be adaptations of the species to their respective habitats. The germination percentage of unscarified seeds of both species is very low.-from Authors
