Abstract
המהפך של בחירות 1977 מוטט את ההגמוניה של תנועת העבודה. כתוצאה מכך הפכה ישראל לרב-תרבותית. כך גם ניתן להבין את הפסיקה של בית המשפט בשנות השמונים, שהיא תוצאה של מצב החרדה אליו נקלעה הקבוצה היהודית-החילונית-הליברלית בהופכה לפוסט-הגמונית. כן נטען במאמר, כי החרדה שאליה נקלעה הקבוצה הנדונה היא גם הסיבה להיעדר הביקורת על בית המשפט העליון
