Abstract

North African Nemesia barbara Lucas, 1846 is redescribed from types and conspecific material and transferred to Iberesia Decae et Cardoso, 2006. It differs from other Iberesia species in possessing a noticeably shorter and less tapering embolus and wider bases of the short spermathecae. Nemesia vittipes Simon, 1911 is recognized here to be a junior synonym of Mygale barbara Lucas, 1846. New data on the distribution of I. barbara are provided and its relationships are briefly considered.
